Despite solid outings from pitchers Bre Capenter and Ashlea Hill, along with good defensive play, El Reno saw its softball season come to an end Wednesday afternoon at Deer Creek High School during Class 5A regional action.

Chickasha avenged a loss to the Indians just one day earlier to upend El Reno 1-0.

The Indians finish with an overall mark of 19-18 in head coach Lynetta Keller’s second season at the helm.

El Reno did reach an accomplishment it aimed for at the beginning of the season. Keller wanted her bunch to surpass the .500 mark in the win-loss column.

“We just wanted to end on a good note and we told the players to think about all the good things we’ve done this year,” Keller said. “We reached one of our goals and that was to have a winning season.”
