The Canadian County Historical Society will hold its first meeting for the season on Monday at 6:30 p.m. in the historic Elk Horn Saloon on the museum grounds inside the Red Barn.

Jack Maine will discuss the 844 steam train and show some videos.

The group will furnish the main dish with attendees bringing a side dish to share, as well as cards or dominoes for playing after the meeting.

Meetings are held the third Monday of every month at 6:30 p.m. at the museum.

The 2007 Community Thanksgiving Dinner is set for Nov. 3 in the Canadian County 4-H Building. Serving will begin at noon until 1:30 p.m. Dinners to shut-ins will be delivered earlier in the morning by volunteers.

Volunteers are needed to help cook, serve, deliver and with cleanup.
