Former Cedar Lake firefighter charged with arson

A former Cedar Lake volunteer firefighter has been charged with intentionally starting two fires in southwest Canadian County.

James Lee Self, 32, was arrested by Canadian County sheriff’s deputies on June 18, according to court documents. The arrest came following an investigation by the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture and approximately two years after Self allegedly set the fires.

YUKON — The nagging problem of leaving runners stranded on base came back to haunt El Reno High School’s varsity baseball team last week during the opening round of the 2008 Red Dirt League playoffs.

NORMAN — The summer season for El Reno High School’s boys basketball program was a “learning experience” according to head coach Rodney Haydon, but the veteran skipper can say for certain the Indians saved the best for last.
