Reward offered in glass bashing

El Reno police are offering a cash reward for information that leads to the arrest of vandals who damaged a number of vehicles last week.

Police started receiving calls Wednesday morning from residents reporting windows on their automobiles had been smashed. Police said 10 different vehicles were reported damaged and the incidents took place in various parts of town. Reports came from North M, North Hoff, South Ellison, West Wade, South Evans, Stone Glen Drive and Skyview.

Police expect more reports will be received as people discover the damage.

Partnership allows RCC to offer bachelor's degree programs

While Redlands Community College has traditionally offered two-year associate’s degrees, creative partnerships are bringing bachelor’s degree programs to the campus, creating more opportunity for those seeking higher education without leaving home.

This past spring, Redlands signed an agreement with Cameron University, Lawton. Redlands provides Cameron with classroom space and in return, Cameron will offer courses in criminal justice which would allow a student to earn a four-year bachelor’s degree in that area of study.

City Council passes 'open doors' resolution

A resolution requesting the Parkview Hospital Budget and Finance Committee conduct its meetings as “open meetings in accordance with the Oklahoma Open Meetings Act” was approved by the El Reno City Council Tuesday in a 4-1 vote.

The vote followed a flurry of public debate between El Reno Mayor Matt White, various Council members and the hospital’s attorney, Joe Weaver.
