Members of the El Reno community were honored with three state Main Street awards at the 19th annual Oklahoma Main Street Awards Banquet on April 29 at the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum.

El Reno Main Street Director Codie Finnigan said she could not be more proud of the quality and dedication she continues to see from her community. The winners were King Electric for the Premier Partner Award, Uptown Downtown for Best Interior Design and to the Main Street Program for Best Promotion of a Centennial Celebration with the centennial celebration at Youngheim Plaza.

“It’s great when community members are recognized for their hard work and dedication to the community,” she said. “When you get to the Oklahoma Main Street Awards Banquet, I mean these are top-notch projects. It is such an honor to be a part of something of that quality.”

Paul King of King Electric echoed Finnigan, saying the award was “a great honor and we appreciate it. I don’t think we have done anything more than anyone else, it is a community effort.”

The Premier Partner Award is given to a business, individual or organization that shows outstanding contributions to their community through partnering with the local Main Street organization.

King said he doesn’t feel like his company has done anything others in the community wouldn’t do.
