The El Reno freshman boys baseball team lost its first two games of the young season, but coach Shannon Carter said the team is hitting the ball well, which means there should be some wins down the road.

The Indians lost their season debut 9-8 in extra innings to Piedmont.

Michael Feistel started the game for El Reno and pitched 1 1/3 innings before Cameron Hill came in and pitched five innings. Hill only gave up two earned runs during his five innings of work.

“We struggled early pitching, but swung the bats extremely well,” Carter said.

Hill was 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two RBIs. Hunter Freeman also was 2-for-3 at the plate.

Raymond Little, Blake Elmenhorst, Feistel, Joseph Vora and Connor Howard all had one hit each in the game. Little and Feistel each had two RBIs.
