Wedman, Nuzum garner first team all-conference honorsBy Rex Hogan/Staff Writer Taylor Wedman, a senior center on the El Reno boys basketball team, and Britney Nuzum, a junior guard on the girls team, have both been named to the First Team of the Western Division All-Suburban Conference squad. Wedman and Nuzum were the leading scorers for their respective teams. Also, junior guard Tana Ramsey and junior forward Fayzon Richey were each named to the Western Division Boys and Girls Second Team. EHS players named as honorable mention were junior forward Kristin Horse, senior forward Jordan Webb and senior guard Jared Krittenbrink. Wedman, Richey, Webb and Krittenbrink helped lead the Indians to an 18-win season — one of the most successful basketball seasons in recent EHS history — and was one game away from going to the state tournament. Nuzum, who was ranked among the top 25 girls scorers in the state, Ramsey and Horse were the main cogs in the girls team that also won 18 games and made it to the state quarterfinals. |
