Indians dance past ShawneeBy Rex Hogan/Staff Writer For the ninth-ranked El Reno High School boys basketball team, it was business as usual last week against Shawnee. Senior center Taylor Wedman gunned in 21 points and junior forward Fayzon Richey added 17 points to pace the Indians to a 69-50 win over the Wolves. It was the boys’ 16th win of the season against five defeats. But El Reno held the Wolves to only five points in the third quarter and 11 points in the fourth quarter and outscored Shawnee 23-11 in the final stanza to breeze to an easy victory. “Any win this time of year is a good win and we’re trying to keep things rolling and stay confident,” said head coach Rodney Haydon. “Shawnee is the first team we’re going to see in the first round of the playoffs. We won the game. It was a dogfight early. |
