When disaster hits, it’s a good time to know your neighbors, and when you’ve known them for 43 years, you have to help them — that is, if you’re Leslie Yeakey.

Yeakey, 43, said there was nothing to do but react when at 2:45 a.m. on Sunday morning he saw the water shoot out of the tile in his bathroom as his son, Nicholas “Stormy” Black shouted, “Dad, where’s this water coming from?”
Yeakey, who lives at 720 N. Miles, said he and his family were settled down for the night when his son woke him up as he saw water trickling across the floor.
