Re-enactors prepare to resurrect historyBy Traci Chapman/Staff Writer Organizers of this year’s Fort Reno Candlelight Tour are going over scripts and working out the kinks in preparation for Saturday’s event. “We’re really scrambling to get everyone to rehearsals and make sure their costumes look good,” organizer Jessica Wells said. “This is how it always is — the pre-event running around to make it all fall in place.” Re-enactors came together Monday to do just that, rehearsing their lines while some tried on their costumes for the first time. Some — like Dorrie Parrott and her daughter, Jordan Parrott — are first-time participants. Dorrie Parrott will play schoolmarm “Miss McGee” during the event, and she ran through lines with some of her “students” in front of the old schoolhouse located on the fort’s grounds. “This is going to be a lot of fun,” she said. |
