ER girls hoopsters knock off Norman North, 34-29, finish third in tournament

El Reno High School’s girls basketball team finished strong in its third outing at the 2008 MidFirst Bank El Reno Invitational, knocking off Norman North 34-29 to claim the third-place trophy.

The team won two out of three games to push its season record to 10-3 as it starts moving into Suburban Conference play this week.

“This is where we realistically expected to be, we’re achieving our goals,” head coach Eric Carr said.

Junior forward Kristin Horse had one of her most productive games of the season against Norman North. She hit 5-of-11 field goal attempts and made 3-of-5 shots from the charity stripe to lead the Indians in scoring with 13 points. She also pulled down eight rebounds, including two offensive rebounds.

Junior guard Tana Ramsey hit 3-of-11 field-goal attempts, and made one of her two 3-point shots. Ramsey also made 5-of-7 free throw attempts.
