Jena Nelson has written and will direct “Hello Jerry” for The Stage Door in Yukon. This musical review is based on the works of Jerry Herman, the only composer-lyricist in history to have had three musicals that ran more than 1,500 consecutive performances on Broadway.
Nelson was born and raised in southeastern Oklahoma. She received a bachelor of arts degree from Northwestern State University in Natchitoche, La. She has traveled extensively around the country and has worked as a director, choreographer and vocal coach. She has taught drama in high school and community theater programs as well as dance and gymnastics, and is also a singer, actor and dancer.
“Hello, Jerry!” will open Jan. 26 to a two-week run. Performances will be held at 8 p.m. Jan. 26 and 27 and Feb. 2 and 3, with two matinees on Jan. 28 and Feb. 4.
