Community Action Agency of Oklahoma and Canadian Counties will be showcasing two new affordable homes in El Reno from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. April 1. The three-bedroom homes are at 112 E. Cheyenne St. and 621 N. Rock Island. They have been built with federal funding provided through the Oklahoma Housing Finance Agency for families that would not typically qualify for home ownership. To qualify, the potential homeowner must have an annual gross income of less than $30,150 to $46,550, depending on size of the family. CAA’s executive director, James Sconzo, said the agency’s community house development program is designed to improve and compliment the quality and number of affordable housing stock, by providing housing that is modest, safe, decent and sanitary for income-eligible families. The homes are fully equipped with new kitchen appliances as well as washer and dryer. The two homes feature three bedrooms, two baths and are between 1,170 and 1,490 square feet. CAA’s housing specialist, Tim Pranter, worked with Universal Modular Homes to provide quality cabinetry and extra embellishments such as crown molding, Sheetrock, shutters and concrete double car driveways. For more information, call Pranter at (405) 232-0199 Ext. 3211 or Jacci Bolt at Ext. 3201.
