Apr 11 2007 - 4:00pm
Many varieties of spring flowers and vegetable plants will be sold Monday through Wednesday inside the greenhouse at Canadian Valley Technology Center. The annual plant sale will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day at the greenhouse, located directly east of Building 200. Ample parking is available south of the building. Hundreds of annuals, perennials and vegetable plants will be featured. The plants are grown as part of a horticulture unit in the school’s Hospitality and Retail Services program. Proceeds will be used to grow more plants next year. Varieties of annuals include begonias, geraniums, impatiens, marigolds, periwinkles and petunias. Perennials include catmint, hibiscus and rose mallow. Several varieties of tomato plants will be for sale, along with multiple varieties of pepper plants. Prices range from 25 cents for vegetable plants to $15 for flowering color pots. Most flower varieties in 4- and 6-inch containers cost $2 or less. Geraniums will be sold in 10-, 12- and 14-inch pots for between $20 and $30. For more information, call Gayla Lutts, Hospitality and Retail Services instructor, at (405) 422-2243.
