Gary Kurpius, national commander of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, will visit El Reno VFW Post 382 on Thursday as part of his 15-city tour of the state. During his tour, Kurpius will brief local VFW posts on the progress of the organization’s grass-roots efforts to increase Veterans Administration funding and to provide sufficient long-term VA health care. Kurpius is a Vietnam Army veteran. He earned the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal with four bronze service stars and Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal. His El Reno appearance is scheduled to begin around 5:30 or 6:30 p.m.
