May 3 2007 - 10:00am
The annual wheat plot tour and field day is set for 10 a.m. Thursday at Don Bornemann’s property between Union City and Mustang just south of Highway 152. Go to the Banner Road and state Highway 152 intersection, then travel one mile south of the intersection on Banner Road and turn west on SW 89th traveling one-half mile west to the plots located on the north side of the road. The field day will include numerous trials and provide wheat growers a look at replicated wheat varieties that were grazed by stocker cattle vs. ungrazed replicated wheat varieties. All varieties were planted in both no-till and conventional tillage situations to secure forage production data. Lunch will be provided to participants. No RSVP is required.
