Leonard Dale Sorrels
Leonard Dale Sorrels, a former business leader and 10-year Navy veteran, passed away Sept. 3, 2008, at Norman Veterans Center.
Mr. Sorrels was born March 29, 1923, near Rush Springs.
By his side through many career changes during 35 years of marriage was his wife, Doris. Sorrels successfully developed a design for Portable Cattle Feeders with plants in three states.
Dale was later active throughout retirement as a highly respected volunteer and trainer for 55 Alive Driving.
Dale is survived by three children, Ladona Love of Oklahoma City, Charles Dale of Colorado and Debra Mecca of Kentucky; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Dale is also survived by a brother, Lee of Newcastle, and sisters, Audrey Bean and Gertrude Foust of Iowa.
Dale was predeceased by his parents, Aaron Iredell and Ida Virginia Sorrels; brothers, Daryl and Aaron; and sisters, Idell Sorrels, Vina Moffatt and Mildred Brown.
The family wishes to express their deep gratitude to Fern Jones for her care and support and the Norman Veterans Center where Dale made his home since December 2004.
Loving father, respected business leader, man of faith and friend to all, Dale Sorrels will be missed by all who knew him.
Visitation was held from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, with funeral services to be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 6, 2008, in the Bill Merritt Memorial Chapel with interment following in the El Reno Cemetery. Darlene Laughlin
Funeral services for Darlene Claudette Laughlin of Weatherford were held Thursday in the chapel of Lockstone Funeral Home with Scott Page officiating.
Burial was in the Red Rock Cemetery south of Calumet.
Darlene died Aug. 31 at Integris Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City.
She was born Oct. 11, 1935, in El Reno. She was raised and attended school in Oklahoma City.
She worked for the Department of Public Safety for over 30 years before moving to Weatherford in 1993.
She is survived by numerous cousins and other family members.

Martha Vickrey
Funeral services for Martha Ruth Williams Vickrey were held Saturday at Minco First Baptist Church with burial in the Evergreen Cemetery. Services were under direction of Huber-Reynolds Funeral Home.
Mrs. Vickrey died Tuesday in Oklahoma City. She was born April 26, 1912, in Clayton, N.M. She was a schoolteacher for over 40 years. She was a Sunday school teacher and member of Minco First Baptist Church, as well as the Arts and Crafts Club.
She is survived by a son, Stanley Vickrey of Oklahoma City; brothers, Harold Williams of Lawndale, Calif., Merrill Williams of Cerritos, Calif., Clifford Williams of Minco and Bill Williams of San Jacinto, Calif.; a sister, Pearl Rhodes of Minco; four grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
