Baker, Willie Stella (paid)
Funeral services for Willie Stella Baker of El Reno will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, May 5, 2006, in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jerry Ervin officiating. Burial will be in the Geary Cemetery.

Mrs. Baker died Monday, May 1, 2006, at her home. She was born Sept. 24, 1921, in Madill to William John and Essey Pearl (Kennedy) Teague. She moved to Calumet as a young child and attended Enterprise School. She married Cecil W. Baker on July 11, 1946. Willie loved to play bingo, dominoes and loved dancing.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Essey Teague; brothers, Edgar Henry Teague and Jack Teague; sisters, Adye Bee Whitley, Ada Teague, Viola Austin, Myrtle Walls and Arthella Hornberger.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Cecil Wesley Baker of the home; sons, Perry Baker of Calumet and Wesley D. Baker and wife, Deborah of Calumet; three grandchildren, LaDana Stanke and husband, Mark, William Baker and Regina Baker; and three great-grandchildren, Chasity Stanke, DaLana Stanke and Katherine Stanke.

Brence, Samuel W.
Graveside services for Samuel W. Brence of McCloud will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Evergreen Cemetery in Minco with Rev. Paul Nix officiating. Services are under direction of Huber-Reynolds Funeral Home.

Mr. Brence died Sunday at his home. He was born Aug. 8, 1927, in Cloud Chief. A former Minco resident, he moved to McCloud in 1998. He served in the Coast Guard during World War II. He retired from the Federal Prison Systems in 1992 and was a member of the Harrah Senior Citizens.

He is survived by sons, Bob Brence of Minco, Randy Brence of Choctaw and Russell Brence of Alexandria, La.; a daughter, Donna Mannion of Plano, Texas; sister, Ruby Clements of Oklahoma City; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Eisenhour, Jean
Funeral services for Jean Eisenhour of El Reno are pending with Eisenhour Funeral Home in Blanchard.

Mrs. Eisenhour died Tuesday at her home.

Finney, Billie M. (paid)
Graveside services for Billie M. Finney will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 4 in the Geary Cemetery with Rev. Larry Mitchell officiating. Services are under direction of Huber-Benson Funeral Home.

Mrs. Finney died May 1, 2006, at Grace Living Center in El Reno. She was born May 12, 1926, in Erick. She came to El Reno in 1960. She was a sales clerk, retiring from J.C. Penney’s and also worked at Itha’s Fashion Tree. She was a member of American Legion Auxiliary. She married John Kennith Finney on Dec. 16, 1947. He preceded her in death on April 23, 1986.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, Knowell Vance and Bobbie (Wharton) Gilbert, and a sister, Norma Canady.

She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Larry Compston of Oologah; brothers, Alan Gilbert of Wichita, Kan., Frank Gilbert of Geary and Bob Gilbert of Atlanta, Ga.; a sister, Elsie Penrod of Geary; two grandchildren, Robert Hudson of Edmond and Dedrah Ferris of Moore; and four great-grandchildren, Lane Wyatt Ferris, Beau Kash Ferris, Callaway James Hudson and Hannah Starke.

Harrison, Metarie
Funeral services for Metarie Harrison, 95, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Sunrise Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Ronnie Jacobs and Rev. Earlie Knox officiating. Burial will be in the El Reno Cemetery under direction of Russworm Funeral Home of Watonga.

Mrs. Harrison died Monday at Kingfisher Hospital. She was born March 15, 1911, in Watonga. She attended Booker T. Washington in El Reno. She was a musician and singer,and worked as a cook. She was a member of Sunrise Missionary Baptist Church and First Baptist Church of Kingfisher, where she served in many capacities. She was a member of the Progressive Eight Club, Silver Leaf Club, Heroines of Jericho, the Faithful Twelve Club and Western District Association.

She is survived by stepchildren, Gloria and David of California.

Hone, Millard
Memorial services for Millard LeRoy “Lee” Hone will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Faith Walker Church, northwest of El Reno.

Mr. Hone died April 23 at his home in El Reno. He was born June 10, 1932, in Rosalia, Wash.
He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict and Vietnam and a retired Army master sergeant.

He is survived by his wife, Della; 11 children, 126 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Shepard, Letha
Funeral services for Letha Shepard, 69, of Lindsay were held Tuesday at B.G. Boydston Funeral Home Chapel in Lindsay with burial in the Green Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Shepard died Friday in Oklahoma City. She was born in El Reno. She lived in Lindsay for 25 years before moving to Oklahoma City. She was a member of Union City Methodist Church.

She is survived by sons, Ronald King of Oklahoma City and Gary King of Greenwood, Ark.; daughters, Cathy Muth of Oklahoma City and Toni Damrill of Cheyenne; sisters, Lena Fuller of Moore, Connie Tinsley of Blanchard, Melinda Myers of Minco and Betty Mosher of Mustang; brothers, Ricky Brothers of Union City and Phillip Brothers of Asher; 18 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Schmalbeck, Arthur
Memorial services for Arthur “Art” William Schmalbeck of El Reno will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Livingstones Worship Center with Rev. Wanda Davis officiating. Services are under direction of Wilson Funeral Home.

Mr. Schmalbeck died Tuesday at Grace Living Center. He was born Aug. 22, 1928, in Wadsworth, Ill. He was raised in Des Plaines, Ill., and relocated to El Reno in 1979. He was employed as an auto mechanic and welder. He served in the Navy, retiring after 24 years of active duty.

He is survived by his wife, Donna of the home; a son, Reggie Schmalbeck of Michigan; daughters, Nancy Looney of Marlow and Jeannie Hicks of El Reno; brothers, Harold Schmalbeck of Des Plaines, Ill., and Graves Schmalbeck of Monticello, Wis.; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Tammen, Sharon Kathryn Dyer
Wake services for Sharon Kathryn Dyer Tammen were held Tuesday, May 2 in the Benson Memorial Chapel. Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 3 at Wesley United Methodist Church with Rev. Jay Swallow and Rev. Russell White officiating. Burial was in the Concho Cemetery under direction of Huber-Benson Funeral Home.

Mrs. Tammen died April 28, 2006, at Sunset Estates in El Reno. She was born Sept. 29, 1947, at Concho. She lived most of her life in El Reno. She was an administrative assistant for the Cheyenne-Arapaho Tribes.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bruce and Belle (Greany) Dyer, a son, Jarred Tammen, and her husband, Danny Tammen.

She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Dana and Phil Heinrich of El Reno; a son, James Elder of El Reno; brothers, Bruce Dyer and Lance Dyer, both of El Reno; sisters, Clara Greany Goodmiller and Patricia Dyer White, both of El Reno; seven grandchildren and two great-grandsons.
