Prayer service for James R. Watkins was held Monday, May 8, 2006, at St. Joseph Church in Union City. Mass of Christian Burial was held Tuesday, May 9, 2006, at St. Joseph Church with Rev. Francis Nguyen and Lloyd Menz officiating. Burial was in the St. Joseph Cemetery under direction of Huber-Benson Funeral Home.

Mr. Watkins died May 5, 2006, at St. Anthony Hospital in Oklahoma City. He was born July 25, 1936, in Oklahoma City, the son of Roy J. and Velva (Lee) Watkins. He moved to Union City in 1974 from Oklahoma City.

He was a parts clerk at Cummins Southern Plains, retiring with 32 years of service. He was a member of St. Joseph Church and Knights of Columbus and was an assistant Boy Scout leader for 15 years and a Birth Choice volunteer.

He married Jerry Bosler on Jan. 8, 1960. Jerry survives him in death.

He is also survived by sons, Don Watkins of Dallas, Texas, and Jeff Watkins and wife, Monica of Taylor, Texas; daughters, Janice Watkins of El Reno and Jackie Jensen and husband, Chris of Oklahoma City; sisters, Eleanor Hensley, Darlene Fikes and Karen Bromlow; and three grandchildren, Erika, Trever and Cody.
