The response to Parkview Ambulance Service’s subscription program has been immediate, said Parkview Administrator Lex Smith.

More than 90 people have signed up for the $60 a year service either through the city’s utility billing of $5 a month or a lump sum emergency ambulance service payment mailed directly to Parkview Hospital.

The service covers the amount not covered by an insurance provider or Medicare.

A brochure and membership application was mailed out to area residents last week providing information on the benefits of the service.

The supplemental coverage for a year will be available July 1 in the event the subscriber, his or her spouse or financially-dependent children living at home have the need for an emergency trip in a Parkview ambulance.
