Ervin, Jerald
Funeral services for Jerald Dee “Sam” Ervin were held Saturday at Yanda and Son Funeral Home in Yukon with burial in the Yukon Cemetery.

Mr. Ervin died Tuesday at Integris Baptist Medical Center. He was born Jan. 13, 1938, in Kress, Texas. He served in the Army Reserve for eight years. He was a graduate of El Reno High School and attended El Reno Junior College. He worked for El Reno Distributors Inc. and the El Reno Water Department before joining the El Reno Police Department. After two years he joined the Oklahoma Highway Patrol and then the Canadian County Sheriff’s Department. In 1970 he was hired as Yukon police chief, serving for 18 years until retirement in 1988. He was instrumental in organizing the Reserve Law Enforcement Officers Association. After retirement, he served as manager of the Yukon Moose Lodge and then as a security guard for the federal courthouse in Oklahoma City.

He is survived by his wife, Wanetta of the home; a son, Stuart Ervin of Fort Belvoir, Va.; a daughter, Shelly Davis of Yukon; brothers, Ernest Ervin of Oklahoma City and Robert Ervin and Jerry Ervin, both of El Reno; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Sealy-Karty, Iris Rose
Wake service for Iris Rose Sealy-Karty of Geary was 7 p.m. Friday at Chief Cornerstone Baptist Church in Geary.
Funeral services were 1 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church, Geary with Rev. Frank Kauanquo officiating. Burial was in Geary Cemetery under the direction of Huber-Benson Funeral Home.

Mrs. Sealy-Karty was born Nov. 4, 1967, at Daly City, Calif. She died Nov. 15 at Parkview Hospital in El Reno. She was a homemaker and member of Chief Cornerstone Baptist Church.

She is survived by her mother, Cynthia Sealy of Geary; a son, Alexander Trey Karty-Sealy of Weatherford; three daughters, Alana Rose Karty-Sealy, Alexis Nicole Sealy and Annabel Sealy, all of Geary.

Also, three brothers, Clifford Sealy Jr. of Weleetka, Jerry Fire of El Reno and Keith Sealy of Geary; and four sisters, Patricia King of Ada, Barbara Roberts of Weleetka, Annabel Lorentz and Tina Sealy, both of Geary.
