Rush, Roberta Halbert (paid)
Memorial services for Roberta Halbert Rush of El Reno will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 19, 2007, at Wesley United Methodist Church with Rev. Richard D. Cato officiating. Services are under direction of Wilson Funeral Home.

Mrs. Rush died Sunday, April 15, 2007, at Integris Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City. She was born Dec. 31, 1926, in Yukon. Roberta was a 1944 graduate of Yukon High School. She grew up in Yukon and in 1951 moved to California. She returned to El Reno in 1964.

Roberta Halbert married Ray Rush on Jan. 6, 1968, in El Reno. She was a retired librarian assistant at El Reno Junior College. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Daughters of the American Revolution, Civil Defense, Hart County Historical Society, Canadian County Genealogical Society and co-founder of Mae Alpine Family Society. Roberta never met a stranger and before you knew it, you were just a part of her extended family, which grew on a daily basis.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy G. and Maude E. (Blackburn) Halbert; her first husband, Robert Boyd Fish; her second husband, Ray M. Rush; a sister, Ethel Baker; two brothers, Dale and Ward Halbert; and a grandson, David Searcy.

Survivors include a son, James “Jim” Rush and wife, Gina of Oklahoma City; daughters, Rebecca Searcy and husband, Bryan of Harrah, Ruth Miller of Oklahoma City, Joyce Springer and husband, Larry of El Reno and JoEllen Rush and husband, Don Muir of Arcadia; sister, Joan Brooks and husband, Clarence of El Reno; 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Wedman, Haiden Parker (paid)
Graveside services for Haiden Parker Wedman were held Saturday, April 14 in the El Reno Cemetery with Rev. Bobby Cates officiating Services were under direction of Huber-Benson Funeral Home.

Haiden was stillborn on April 11, 2007, at Integris Canadian Valley Regional Hospital in Yukon.

She is survived by her mother, Taryn Ezell, and her father, Will Wedman, both of El Reno; maternal grandparents, Ronnie and Dianne Ezell of El Reno; paternal grandparents, Bill and Edna Wedman of El Reno; maternal great-grandparents, Wayne and Gail Ezell of El Reno, Fern Dyer of Park Hill and Tony McGee of Willow; paternal great-grandparents, Pat Wedman of El Reno and Joe and Joan Salyer of Cogar; paternal great-great-grandmother, Ruby Taylor of Bethany; an uncle, Glenn Wedman of El Reno; aunts, Tosha Ezell of Oklahoma City and Tamie Ezell of El Reno; and numerous other family members.

Haiden was preceded in death by her maternal great-grandparents, John Dyer and Kaye McGee; and paternal great-grandparents, W.L. “Bud” Wedman and Edna Salyer.

Wright, Elizabeth (paid)
Funeral services for Elizabeth Cox Wright of El Reno will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 20, 2007, at Wesley United Methodist Church with Dr. Richard D. Cato and Dr. Burrel McNaught officiating. Burial will be in the El Reno Cemetery. Services are under direction of Wilson Funeral Home.

Elizabeth was born to Mr. and Mrs. Roy B. Cox on April 13, 1922, in Mississippi, and passed away on April 16, 2007, at Parkview Hospital at the age of 85. She was a graduate of El Reno High School, Pine Manor Junior College, Wellesley, Mass., and the University of Oklahoma in Norman. She was a member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority.

On Sept. 11, 1946, Elizabeth Cox married W. Morris Wright and to- gether they owned and operated Cox-Wright Furniture Company, with the main store located in El Reno and later expanding with stores in Yukon and Bethany. Elizabeth was a longtime active member of Wesley United Methodist Church and taught Sunday school classes there for many years. She was also a member of the Athenaeum Study Club, United Methodist Women Circle 2 and the Chamber of Commerce.

Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Cox; a son, Richard Wright; a daughter, Cathy Tate; and a grandson, Douglas Wright.

She is survived by her husband, Morris Wright of the home; a son, Fred Wright of El Reno; grandchildren, Wade Wright, Tammy Wright, Phret Wright, Christopher Tate, Mattea Tate and Schaler Tate; and several cousins.
