Obituaries for April 27, 2008Finn, William Kenneth (paid) In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that donations be made to the Friends of Bedford Library and Meals on Wheels where Bill delivered meals for over 10 years. Bill was born Sept. 23, 1930, in El Reno to William Francis and Rachael Newman Finn. He attended Sacred Heart Catholic School through the eighth grade. He attended and graduated from El Reno High School. He attended West Contra Costa Junior College in California and Arlington State College, now University of Texas Arlington, for an associate’s degree in engineering. He met his wife, Bonnie Rowe, in high school when she was a freshman and he was a sophomore. They married at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Oct. 9, 1954. Their son, Michael Timothy Finn, was born in Oklahoma City on June 13, 1955. They purchased their home and moved to Bedford in November of 1960. Bill worked as a brakeman for the Rock Island Railroad in El Reno during his senior year. While attending college in Arlington, he worked for Safeway stores. He worked as a contracts administrator in the engineering department of Bell Helicopter for 10 years. In 1968, he was hired by the city of Bedford to start its first garage. He was the director of vehicle maintenance for 25 years. He helped design and was director of the current garage until his retirement. Bonnie was the Bedford Library director for 27 years and they both retired April 3, 1993, to travel in their motor home to every state in the United States and many provinces in Canada. They visited many foreign countries such as Europe, the Orient, Ireland, Scotland, Mexico and the Caribbean Islands. They enjoyed cruises to the Mediterranean, Hawaii, Alaska and Caribbean. Many of their travels were shared with Bonnie’s sisters and brothers-in-law, L.A. and Corky Spurlin, El Reno, Robert and Shirley Johnson, El Reno, and Walt and Rosie Bullock, Grapevine, Texas. They were affectionately known as the “Inlaw Gang.” Bill survived three heart attacks and two other bouts of cancer throughout the years with a positive attitude and a lot of prayers. Since September he was bravely fighting the leukemia until there were too many complications recently. Bill enjoyed restoring antique cars, woodworking, and loved to sightsee and experience new adventures. He possessed a warm sense of humor and above all, adored his life, family and many friends. He was preceded in death by his brother, James Francis, and parents, William Francis and Rachael Finn. He is survived by his wife, Bonnie; son, Michael and wife, Madeleine; brother, Paul and sister-in-law, Burdette Finn of El Reno; sister, Eileen Elkins of Bella Vista, Ark.; sister-in-law, Delores Finn of California; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and extended family members. Hambrook, James Mr. Hambrook died Thursday at Sparks Hospital in Fort Smith, Ark. He grew up in El Reno, then later moved to California and then to Arkansas. He had worked for the Chicken Plant in Arkansas and was a painter. He served in the Army during the Vietnam era. He is survived by a sister, Marie Hatcher of El Reno. Harjo, Damion Ray Damion passed away Friday, April 18, 2008, in a car wreck in Oklahoma City. He was born June 6, 1996, in El Reno. Damion was a fifth-grade student at Darlington School. He loved basketball and wrestling. He was a member of the Darlington Chiefs basketball team and El Reno wrestling and the Boys and Girls Club. He attended New Hope Baptist Church. Damion had been working summers with his grandmother, Darlene Harjo, in their lawn service. He was very proud of his ability to operate all of the lawn equipment. He received many compliments on his completed jobs. He was preceded in death by his father, Paul Wayne Richards; maternal grandfather, Raymond “Buddy” Harjo; maternal great-grandparents, Otto Wiese and Annie E. Wiese; maternal great-grandfather, Ben Harjo; an aunt, Rona Ann Harjo Silva; and a cousin, Kara Wiese. Survivors include his mother, Gina (Harjo) Richards of the home; two brothers, Ethan Paul Richards of El Reno and Pvt. Alex P. Quiroz of Fort Sill, and fiancee, Katrina, and their daughter, Trinity, both of Oklahoma City; four sisters, Kaeci Rae Harjo, Kylie Rae Harjo, Hope Shay Richards and Destiny Rae Richards, all of El Reno; maternal grandmother, Darlene Harjo and her son, Sgt. Cincinnati Harjo and wife, Amy, and their children, Alicyn Rhea Harjo and Maci Rae Harjo, all of Fort Hood, Texas; cousin, Reva Silva of El Reno; great-uncle and aunt, Howard and Susan Dickens of Norman, and their children, Will and wife, Sherri Hollander of Oklahoma City, and Jason and wife, Marsha Gregg of Longmont, Colo.; great-aunt, Mary Wiese of El Reno; cousin, Jordan Wiese of El Reno; cousin, Dustin Wiese and wife, Misty of Oklahoma City; maternal great-grandmother, Edith Harjo of Cromwell; paternal grandmother, Sheila Nail and husband, Don Nail of Wynnewood; paternal grandfather, Roy Richards of Bristol, England; and numerous other relatives and friends. Keller, Dorothy She is survived by daughters, Donna Watts of Binger, Janice Baker of Alex and Sue Lierle of Calumet; a son, Johnnie Keller of Ratliff City; brothers, Terry Allen and Noel Allen, both of El Reno; 13 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson. Potts, Mary M. (paid) Mrs. Potts died Wednesday, April 23, 2008, at Parkview Hospital. She was born March 2, 1918, in Shawnee. Mary was a 1936 graduate of Norman High School. She had attended the University of Oklahoma. She was a member of the RSVP for 16 years, the Switchman’s Auxiliary, Women Relief Corps, NARVRE, Senior Citizens, Cub Scouts den mother, Brownies den mother, Girl Scouts, GAR and DAR and New Hope Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hugh E. and Sarah J. (Hill) Worthington; husband, William Luther Potts; sister, Anabelle Worthington; brothers, Floyd and James Worthington; and grandson, Darryl Shaw. Survivors include a son, Kenneth Potts and wife, Karen of Yukon; a daughter, Anna Potts Butler of El Reno; sisters, Betty Jane Skelton of Shawnee and Josephine King of Fresno, Calif.; grandchildren, Cheryl Shaw Coats of Noble, Tonya Shaw Buck of Royal, Ark., Shelley Potts Bosler and husband, Bart of Leawood, Kan., and Christopher W. Potts of Yukon; seven great-grandchildren, Billy Coats Jr., Sumer Coats Hayes and husband, Eric, Brandon Coats, Benjamin Coats, Parker Bosler, Ashley Root and husband, Denny, and Amber Shine; seven great-great-grandchildren, Payton Root, Jacob Root, Koby Shine, Patricia Nickell, Meaghan Nickell, Shelbie Coats and Zachary Coats; and numerous other relatives and friends. Richards, Paul Wayne (paid) Paul passed away Friday, April 18, 2008, in a car wreck in Oklahoma City. He was born Nov. 8, 1969, in Dallas, Texas. Paul attended school at Maple School, Calumet High School and the Canadian Valley Vo-tech. He was plant manager for Integrity Trailers and was a former machinist. Paul was a loyal fan of the Texas Longhorns and the Dallas Cowboys. Survivors include his wife, Gina (Harjo) Richards of the home; son, Ethan Paul Richards of El Reno; daughters, Kaeci Rae Harjo, Kylie Rae Harjo, Destiny Rae Richards and Hope Shay Richards, all of El Reno; his father, Roy Richards of Bristol, England; his mother, Sheila Nail and husband, Don Nail of Wynnewood; brother, Sid Nail of Wynnewood; niece, Jessica Ellison of El Reno and husband, Chad, who is currently serving in Iraq, and their daughter, Madison of El Reno; nephews, Christopher Torbet and Steven White; sidekick, Kade Brickey and wife, Lacey, and children; and numerous other relatives and friends.
