Allen, Juanita (Blair) (paid)
Funeral services for Juanita (Blair) Allen of El Reno were held Friday, May 2 at First Christian Church with Rev. Ronnie Fields officiating. Burial was in the El Reno Cemetery. Services were under direction of Wilson Funeral Home.

Juanita died Tuesday, April 29, 2008, at her home. She was born Oct. 30, 1933, in Kingfisher to James and Daisy (McNeil) Blair.

Juanita moved to Corpus Christi, Texas, at a young age and attended school there. She later moved to El Reno and was a 1952 graduate of El Reno High School. Juanita began working with Timberlake Insurance Agency while still in high school and continued to work in the insurance business for many years. She was a member of First Christian Church where she was married to Edward V. Allen on Jan. 30, 1953.

Juanita was preceded in death by her mother, Daisy McNeil Blair, and her parents, James “Jay” and Velma Blair; husband, Edward V. Allen; granddaughter, Brandi Grizzelle Jones; step-great-grandson, Jonathan Hauenstein; and brother-in-law, Nelson Allen.

Survivors include her son, Randy Allen and wife, Sheryl of El Reno; daughter, Toni Grizzelle and husband, Marty of El Reno; brother, James M. Blair of El Reno; sister, Cheryl Parker and husband, Greg of El Reno; grandchildren, Brandon Allen and wife, April of Weatherford, Amber Allen of El Reno, Jennifer Johnson and husband, Terry of Ferris, Texas, Bob Grizzelle and wife, Amanda of El Reno, and Neal Grizzelle and wife, Valerie of El Reno; step-grandson, Matthew Mueggenborg and wife, Bridget of Stillwater; great-grandchildren, Natalie Allen of Weatherford, Tyler Johnson of Ferris, Texas, and Corey and Jasmine Grizzelle of El Reno; step-great-grandchildren, Natalie, Matthew and Breanne Mueggenborg, all of Stillwater; brothers-in-law, Noel Allen and wife, Gale, and Terry Allen and wife, Peggy, all of El Reno; sister-in-law, Helen Jeansonne and husband, Don of Bridge City, Texas; many other relatives; and special friends, Lou Titterington and Deann Means, both of El Reno.

Campbell, James Earl (paid)
Graveside services for James Earl Campbell were held Friday, May 2, 2008, at the Burney Moore Cemetery in Madill with Ron Robertson officiating. Services were under direction of Watts Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Madill.

Mr. Campbell, 49, of El Reno, passed away Tuesday, April 29, 2008, at his home. He was born in Seminole to Hubert Earl Campbell and Carolyn Pearl Case Campbell on Sept. 2, 1958. James grew up in Seminole and graduated from Seminole High School in 1976. He attended Southeastern University in Durant where he received bachelor’s and master’s degrees in science and technology. James worked for the USDA as a computer scientist in Durant before moving to El Reno in 1997 where he continued working for the USDA. He was a member of the NSTRA and he enjoyed hunting, fishing, being a beach bum, anything outdoors and family.

He is survived by his wife, Julie Campbell of El Reno; parents, Earl and Carolyn Campbell of Bridgeview; a son, Jason Campbell and wife, Brandie of Bridgeview; a daughter, Cherie Burns and husband, Mark of Concho; brother, Tommy Campbell and wife, Chris of Bridgeview; stepsons, Mark Bell, Travis Buttram and wife, Sarah, Jerry Buttram and wife, Katie, and Jesse Buttram; grandchildren, Tyler, Mason and Lauren Campbell, Aspen Burns and Allie Taylor; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

James was preceded in death by his grandparents, James Thomas and Opal Zelda Campbell and James and Audrey Case; an uncle, Jimmy Case; an aunt; Lorene Campbell; and a grandson, Brandon Joe Campbell.

Mathews, William III (paid)
Funeral services for William “Bill” Mathews III of El Reno will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, May 5, in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Richard D. Cato, pastor of Wesley United Methodist Church officiating.

Bill died May 1, 2008, at the OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City. He was born Feb. 27, 1946, in El Reno. Bill grew up in El Reno and attended El Reno Public Schools. He was a 1965 graduate of El Reno High School. Following high school, Bill attended Spartan’s School of Aeronautics in Owasso. He worked for the Rock Island Railroad as a welder in the car shop. After the Rock Island closed, Bill worked as a self-employed welder. He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church.
Bill was preceded in death by his father, William Wallace Mathews Jr.; his mother and stepfather, Elizabeth (Lewis) and Bill Parker; a sister, Norma Streitenberger; and stepson, Harold Parker.

Survivors include his son, William Mathews IV of El Reno; daughters, Brenda Mathews of College Station, Texas, and Elizabeth Mathews of El Reno; sister, Wilma E. Wilson of El Reno; stepbrother, Jerry M. Parker of Neosho, Mo.; stepsister, Billie Mirth of El Reno; grandchildren, Greg Lewis of Harlingten, Texas, Tristain Mathews, Trinity Mathews, Jimmie Thomas and Austin Cagle, all of El Reno; great-granddaughter, Amber Lewis of Harlingten, Texas; his good friend, Suzanne Mathews of El Reno; Bill’s best friend, Sadie, his dog; and many other relatives and friends.

Smith, Kent
Word has been received of the death April 28 of Kent B. Smith of El Reno. Mr. Smith was born Sept. 9, 1938. He was a jazz musician and a Boy Scout leader.

He is survived by a daughter, Connie Hamilton of Richlands, Va.; a brother, Clair Smith of Oklahoma City; and six grandchildren.

South, Doris
Graveside services for Doris J. “Dolly” South were held Saturday in the Evergreen Cemetery in Minco with Jim Ross officiating. Services were under direction of Huber-Reynolds Funeral Home.

Mrs. South died Wednesday at Mercy Health Center. She was born Nov. 13, 1920, in Shawnee. A longtime resident of Minco, she worked at Markle’s Grocery for many years. She was a member of United Methodist Church in Minco.

She is survived by a son, Larry South of Tuttle; daughters, Barbara Baker of Klamath Falls, Ore., Mary Eades of Garland, Texas, and Sharron Wigley of Tuttle; a sister, Emma Henderson of Mulvane, Kan.; 12 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Wolking, Helen
Services for Helen Wolking are pending with Huber-Benson Funeral Home.

She died Friday at her home.
