Final plans in place for field house renovationsBy Daniel Lapham/Staff Writer Plans were finalized by the City Council on Tuesday for the Jenks Simmons Field House addition. The approval marked another block in the foundation of the El Reno Capital Improvement Program. Jenks Simmons was the first major construction project to go out to bid, said City Manager Tony Rivera. The invitation for bids went out on April 23 and the bids will be opened on Thursday. “We hope to award a contract at the special City Council meeting on May 27,” Rivera said. Kerr 3 Design Group and city staff met on Wednesday in a work session to ensure the projects were moving forward according to plan. According to information given out at the meeting, invitations for bids on the Lake El Reno facility are scheduled to go out on June 4. Invitations for waterlines will open on July 1 and Memorial Stadium is expected to be ready for bidding on July 30. |
