The addition of Katie Raines has had an immediate impact for El Reno.

One day after leading the Indians with two hits against Harrah, Raines threw a perfect game against Weatherford and carried them to an easy 12-0 victory.

Raines, who is a move-in from Yukon, just became eligible for the varsity on Monday. The senior was playing with the junior varsity leading up to Monday.

Raines threw 29 strikes against just six balls through four innings and finished with five strikeouts. She had five groundball outs and forced one flyout.

“Katie was just awesome for us tonight,” said head coach Lynetta Keller. “She blew them away and just had a great outing.

“Everything was working for her. Very rarely as a coach do you get to see a perfect game.”

Just as importanty, the Indians broke out of an offensive slump. They finished with 15 hits, but were able to finish off with runs this time around, after combining for two runs in their last two outings.

Led by freshman Chelsea Jones, who went 3-for-4 with a double and RBI, El Reno scored in all four innings.
