“It’s so good to see you,” echoed through the Hub Reed Complex as Justin Ferguson rolled into the park with his parents. The El Reno High School senior was there to join his teammates and classmates in a senior night ceremony Monday evening.

Tears dropped from cheeks as parents and friends watched Ferguson walk his parents across the infield to be honored at the last home game the senior Indians will play for their high school. Although Ferguson wasn’t on the field for the game, he and family were as thankful to be at the game as if it were the state championship.

The 18-year-old senior is continuing to recover from a serious four-wheeler accident that occurred in March while he was riding with some friends. The four-wheeler rolled over four times and ended up pinning him underneath. The results of the crash were several broken bones in his back, ribs and a severely damaged liver.

Ferguson beamed as he greeted friends from the baseball team where he played first base prior to the accident.

“I’m doing better now. It’s so good to be outside,” Ferguson said. Justin’s father, Randy Ferguson, said things are looking good, but it’s not over yet so he urged the community to keep praying.
