Raney wins two more shot titles
El Reno junior C.J. Raney continued his impressive track season with two more shot championships.
Raney won the meet in Weatherford with a throw of 52-0. He then took top honors at the Suburban Conference meet in Chickasha with a throw of 51-9. Raney was a second-place finisher in the discus with a 133-5.
The only shot event Raney didn’t get first place in was at Elk City where he finished in second place with a throw of 54-5.
Sophomore Britney Nuzum also took gold in the high jump with a 5-2. Nuzum was fourth in the long jump at 14-5.
In freshmen action, Cody Dauphin ended in first place in the discus with a 109-9.
In the sprint relay event, the team consisting of Cory Dauphin, Jakeil Everheart, Kirby Woolard and Terry Hubbard placed second with a time of 47.9 seconds.
Woolard placed second in the 110 hurdles at 18.87 seconds, and was third in the 300 hurdles with a time of 45.66 seconds.
Cory Dauphin finished in sixth place in the 100 meters event.
