Redlands volleyball continues surge as postseason nearsBy Byron Beers/Staff Writer The Redlands Community College volleyball team recorded its 24th win of the season by defeating Seminole State College on the road last week. The No. 18 Cougars, under head coach Kristin Vincent, improved to 24-9 overall and 4-1 in conference play with a four-set victory over the Trojans. Redlands won the first two games, 30-20 and 30-26. The Cougars stumbled 25-30 in game three, before recovering for a 30-27 victory in the fourth game. Vincent’s squad will host Navarro Junior College at 1 p.m. Monday in the final home outing of the season. The Cougars hosted fourth-ranked University of Arkansas-Ft. Smith on Saturday. “I’m pleased with the way the team is playing, but we understand that our most important matches are those in the upcoming week,” Vincent said. |
