El Reno High School wrestling coach Shane Head warned his then third-ranked team last week that they had to wrestle well against fourth-ranked Harrah during the Suburban Conference Championship Dual.

The reason?

The Class 4A Dual State Championships — which start Friday.
If the history-rich Indians were to beat Harrah, they would be placed in a state dual bracket away from No. 1 ranked Catoosa.

“We didn’t wrestle very well,” Head said. “We lost all the matches that we thought were swing matches. We just wrestled bad. If we would wrestle those matches again we’d win.”

Cory Dauphin, Austin Mogg, Nathan Dewberry and Bryan Solomon all won their matches against Harrah, but the Panthers came away with a 37-25 win.
